Motions:

A motion was made by C. Batemon to cancel the subscription to the text messaging service and move all future communications to the GroupMe app. The motion was carried by E. Johnson and seconded by G. Whited.

Discussion Topics:

- General discussion on the effectiveness of the GroupMe app for member communication

- Ongoing disciplinary actions related to shove movements and beginning-of-shift job briefings

- Educational overview of union financial structure, including a breakdown of dues allocation

- Educational overview of the appeals process for disciplinary actions and denied claims

- Review and discussion of the SMART Local 622 Member Survey results

- Discussion regarding the Bessemer Award and its connection to the denial of claims in Meridian related to relieving trains outside Yard Limits

- Emphasis on the importance of submitting initial and final terminal claims to support the renegotiation of trip rates. Additional information will be shared with members soon.
